Christmas Parade Info

  • Date: Saturday, December 13

  • Time: Lineup at 5:30pm, End at approximately 6:30pm

  • Dress: Formal uniform (this year’s band t-shirt, bibbers, band jacket, tall solid black socks, black marching gloves, black band shoes)

  • Starting Location: Students should be at the corner of Elk Avenue and Lynn Avenue (Parking lot across from “Big John’s”) by 5:30pm. It is important to be on time–there will be a large crowd and heavy traffic. Please plan accordingly.

  • Parade Route: Follows Elk Avenue to the monument

  • Ending Location: The band will turn right at the monument onto S. Main and stop around 6:30pm. All parents must meet their child there or have a nearby designated meeting place at this time. The parade will still be in progress. Supervision of students will end once we stop–so please make sure you pick up your student.

  • Guidelines for the parade:

    • Students must take ALL INSTRUMENTS home on Friday, Dec. 12.

    • If students are not in full uniform, they will not march.

    • Please be on time!

    • Several streets around the lineup area may be blocked off.  Parents may have to drop their children a block or so from the line up area.

    • If it rains or is extremely cold, we may not march. Changes will be communicated through the BAND app.

    • Please wear your band T-shirt under your jacket.  Students may wear long sleeves under their band t-shirt if the weather is cold.

    • Percussion and sousaphones need to bring instruments back to school on Monday.

    • This performance is a requirement for band class. You will be graded.

    • Parents/guardians are not permitted to walk in the parade route behind marchers on Elk Avenue. Only registered participants are permitted on the parade route.
